The 1st Marianas History Conference will be held from June 14-16, 2012 at the Fiesta Resort, Saipan. Unfortunately, I unable to attend this year, but I am certainly planning for the next conference and also plan on delivering a presentation on Chamorro genealogy.

For those who are able to attend this year's conference, Ms. Jillette Leon-Guerrero, a research collaborator of the Chamorro Roots Genealogy Project, will be presenting "Genealogy Research: Challenges, Tools, and Techniques," on Friday from 9:15am - 9:45am, June 15, 2012.

Added Two 1947 War Claims Documents

Details
Published: 23 May 2012

I added two war claim documents to the Guam War Claim file directory:

  1. 80th Congress, Senate, Document No. 34, "Estimate of Appropriation - Personal Injury to Residents of Guam.," April 7, 1947.
  2. 80th Congress, House of Representatives, Document No. 349, "Estimate of Appropriation Submitted by the Navy Department to Pay Claims for Death or Personal Injury to Residents of Guam," June 24, 1947.

These documents contain names of claimants for casualties and victims of the Japanese occupation of Guam during World War II.
