This article appeared in the Guam Daily News 60 years ago on February 23, 2018 identifying Frederick Castro Peterson as the first person of CHamoru ancestry to graduate from the US Naval Academy. Two other CHamoru sailors were also on board the USS Evans that was slated to visit Guam: Jose Cruz Anderson from Santa Rita and Jose Sahagon Santos from Dededo.
