Meet Francisco Chargualaf, Carlos Bahe and Benito from 1839.
On January 1, 1839, the D’Urville expedition had made a second visit to the Mariana Islands. It was during this visit when Pierre-Marie Alexandre Dumoutier, a Naturalist and prenologist molded some busts of CHamoru men. These three photos of the busts were taken by Jacques-Philippe Potteau and have been digitally archived at the Museum National D’Histoire Naturelle in France. I retrieved these thumbnail photos from their website for education and research purposes.
